Dear East TN Senior Athlete,
We regret to inform you that it will not be possible to hold
an event for the East Tennessee district this year.There are simply not enough funds in the East
TN account to do so.The exception to
this announcement is that the Gatlinburg Community Center has graciously
offered to continue holding the basketball tournament that has been very
popular (date to be announced).
We are asking all East TN athletes to choose another
district in which to participate.Although any district may be chosen, our board of directors would like
to make these recommendations for the following counties:
First TN district for Jefferson , Union, Claiborne,
Grainger, Hamblen, Cocke
Upper Cumberland district forScott,
Morgan, Anderson, Campbell
Southeast district for Roane, Blount, Knox, Sevier
Dates and entry forms (once ready) for all of our districts

Please be aware that our board has simplified the rules for
qualifying for our state finals.The new
rule is as follows:
Any athlete who PARTICIPATES at a district may advance
to state finals in the exact sport/event in which he/she participated.The old rule required coming in 1st,
2nd, 3rd, or 4th place in respective age
groups.
This is not permanent.We would enjoy nothing more than to have a strong and thriving East TN
district.We would like to form a
committee of seniors with sponsor and fundraising ideas.To volunteer for this committee please write
