Board Members
The business and affairs of the Tennessee Senior Olympics are managed by a Board of Directors composed of not more than twenty-one (21) members.Members of the Board include at least one representative from each of the regional districts.Other members include a representative from east, middle, and west Tennessee, a member representing the Tennessee Recreation and Park Association, members representing the district coordinators,park and recreation departments, the host city, and major sponsors.
The term of membership is for three years and is uncompensated.
It is the responsibility of each member of the Board to take an active part in the direction of the Tennessee Senior Olympics and to act in whatever capacity he/she may be called, to help involve and train persons in their district, and to be loyal in thought and deed to the purposes of the organization.Board members set policies, rules, schedules, and rule o n many other aspects of the event.
Upper Cumberland
Frank Baker has been involved with the Senior Olympics as a participant since 1988, as the Upper Cumberland District Co-coordinator with Charline Picard, since 1996, as a State Board of Director since 1999, and as the Chairman since 2009.
He has been to seven National Senior Olympics participating in bowling with partners Loren Dinkel, and Auda McCoy and has one Gold, three Silver, two Bronze, a fourth place and a fifth place finishes.
He was born and raise in the Detroit area, retired from Detroit Diesel after 32 years and moved to Crossville, TN in 1987. He has been married to Val for over 53 years. He has two children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
His favorite saying, "You don't quit playing because you grow old, you grow old because you quit playing".

Parks and Recreation
Linda Kauffman is currently employed by the City of Jackson's Recreation and Parks Department where she acts as Manager of the South Jackson Community Center and Program Coordinator for Senior Services. She received her B.S. in Health and Physical Education from Austin Peay State University. Her work experiences include Military Sports and Recreation, Tennessee Dept. of Corrections Recreation, Madison County Parks and Recreation and Forest Service Job Corps. She serves as secretary on the state board and is in her fourth year as coordinator for the Southwest District. She is also a Senior Athlete, competing in javelin, bowling, horseshoes and shuffleboard. In her spare time she grows and tends to over 150 different Irises. She believes in staying active.

Charlie Baker, a Wake Forest alum and North Carolina native, lives in Chattanooga with his wife Lib. Charlie retired from DuPont after 41 years of service. He started competing in Senior Olympics in 1992 and has participated (track and field, volleyball, racquetball) every year since as well as holding many state track records. He has attended 4 National Senior Olympics and most Southeastern State Finals plus Masters Events. The Nationals in Pittsburgh in '05, where he medalled, were the highlight of his participation.

Mary (Pat) Burton, is 72, married with 2 children and 6 grandchildren and lives in Hixson, TN.
Pat has participated in several sports at the local and state Senior Games since 1990 and has competed in individual field events and team sports at the National games several times.
Northwest Tennessee
Jerry Edmundson has been involved in the Tennessee Senior Olympics since 2000. He has served as the Executive Director of the Dyersburg-Dyer County Union Mission since 1975, serving special needs, underprivileged children, families and seniors. He has served the Dyer County Office on Aging Advisory Board for six years, two as Chairman.
He is currently serving as the Vice-Chairman of the Northwest Tennessee Area Agency on Aging's Advisory Board, having been a member since 1987. Jerry noted that "Seniors are the most important and influential people in my life. Now I am one." Jerry was granted the honor of being a Torch Bearer for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

Joyce Manis, who has participated in the Senior Olympics since 1993, is a new board member.She retired as a church secretary in 1997 and has also worked as a typesetter/proofreader in the past. She has competed in every National Senior Olympics since 1997 and loves the games.She has 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren.

N. Gallimore – Russell has been
an active participant in Senior Olympics on every level since 2000, playing
basketball, softball, shuffleboard, table tennis, etc.He is
a longtime member of the Southwest District Senior Olympic Advisory Board.He and his wife Carroll (an active supporter)
live in Jackson and have three sons and six grandchildren.He is a retired United Methodist minister.
