2023 Basketball Skill Events Schedule:
Free throw/Hot Shot/3 Point
Saturday, June 24, 12:00 pm 50-64 age groups
Sunday, June 25, 12:00 pm 65+ age groups
Free throw competition will be first, followed by 3-point, and then hot shot. Please plan accordingly.

Note: Out-of-state residents may register for the basketball skills competition. Tennesseans- tell your friends.
Medals will be awarded according to actual place, not separated by in-state and out-of-state.
Basketball Free Throw
Players MUST use the balls provided. Format and tie breaker period to be determined. One or two practice throws will be allowed prior to the official count if the participant desires. Afterwards, there will be a period for tiebreakers. If you feel that you might be in contention for a medal, it is absolutely necessary that you check back at the tie breaker period. This is not a National qualifying event. Ladies over 65: please note that you will be allowed to shoot from a 12’ line if you wish.
Basketball Hot Shot and Basketball 3 Point Contests
Men's and Women's
- In the hot shot, five spots are marked at locations on the court. The competitor has one minute to score as many points as possible from these marks that are worth between 2 and 5 points.
- The three point contest consists of 10 shots behind the three point line.
- These are not National qualifying events.

Medals: If you must leave before medals are awarded, please have a friend/athlete check your place and pick it up for you. Medals will also be mailed after receiving a request in writing, accompanied by a check payable to the TN Senior Olympics in the amount of $3.00 per medal for shipping. Mail to: TSO, PO Box 681, Mt.
